General Liability and Umbrella Insurance

We use customized insuring agreements and incorporate key coverages required by contract, eliminating the confusion caused by adding numerous endorsements to a standardized policy. Our forms address the needs of the energy industry.

The following are some of the standard coverage highlights included in our forms:

General Liability Coverage and Features

  • “Knock-for-Knock” Indemnity language
  • Time-Element Pollution Coverage resulting from an Eligible Pollution Incident – 30-day discovery/90-day reporting with a 120-day reporting period for NOWI owners
  • Blanket Additional Insured as required by written contract
  • Blanket Waivers of Subrogation as required by written contract
  • Primary and Non-contributory
  • Insured Contract definition does not limit to “tort” and includes MSA’s and JOA’s
  • Coverage Territory includes US Lease Blocks and state waters
  • $1,000,000 Pollution Clean Up Costs (subject to the Occurrence Limit) at Oil or Gas Lease Sites (as defined in the policy)
  • Notice and Knowledge of Occurrence
  • Separation of Insureds
  • Underground Resources and Equipment coverage – No sublimit
  • Indemnitee defense expense as supplementary payments
  • Supplementary Control of Well Expenses of Insureds arising out of a producing well on dry land (up to $50,000)
  • Pollution Control & Mitigation Program

Umbrella (per policy wording) – Limits up to $5,000,000
